Cards, Permits and Brexit: Non-EU Questions
The Agreement TIE, fingerprints in Cartagena, permits decided in Murcia, the EX-19, a trip during a renewal, retiring from outside the EU, for the coast.
Which document proves my residence if I settled here before Brexit?
The Agreement TIE, a residence card that names the Withdrawal Agreement on its face. Still holding only the old green certificate? Exchange it: book the fingerprint step for the province of Murcia.
Huellas TIE Cartagena: where are they taken?
TIE issue appears on policia.es at the Comisaría de Cartagena, C/ Menéndez y Pelayo 6 (968 320 795), and at the provincial brigade at Cabezo Cortado, in Murcia. Your cita previa confirmation names the office.
Extranjería Cartagena: who decides on my permit?
The Oficina de Extranjería in Murcia, at Cabezo Cortado in Espinardo, the only one in the region. The comisaría in Cartagena deals with police steps, such as the NIE and the issue of your card once a permit is granted.
My husband is Belgian and registered here; I hold a Colombian passport. Which form is mine?
The EX-19, for family members of EU citizens. The Delegación del Gobierno lists that card at its Oficina de Extranjería in Murcia.
My residence is being renewed and my father is ill abroad. Can I travel?
Ask for an autorización de regreso before you leave. policia.es lists it at the Comisaría de Cartagena on Menéndez y Pelayo, so the road to Murcia may not be needed.
Can a non-EU retiree buy a home and stay on?
Buying is allowed, but it gives no residence: Spain closed the golden visa in 2025. For living here on a pension, the usual route is a non-lucrative visa from the consulate.
