Modelo 790 código 012: settling the police fee before the day

The fee is settled ahead of the day, never at the comisaría (police station): fill in Modelo 790, código 012 on the police’s electronic office, mark the box that names your procedure, pay the printed slip in a bank or by card online, and keep its stamp or receipt for the desk. This State fee, a tasa, is fixed by the State and shown by the form once your box is marked, so we never quote an amount here.

Generating the form

The form is produced online, on the Policía Nacional’s electronic office, sede.policia.gob.es. You type your name, your NIE or passport number and your address, tick the procedure and print the result. A handwritten copy of an old form is a risk not worth taking.

One box, and only one

Each procedure has its own box: a number requested on form EX-15, the green certificate, the card issued at the fingerprint appointment, the return authorisation and more. Tick the one that matches the trámite (procedure) on your cita previa confirmation. A slip paid under the wrong box may be refused, and you would then pay again under the right one.

Paying

Pay the printed form at a bank that accepts the 790, or online by card where the page allows it. The bank stamps or validates your copy; an online payment gives you a receipt to print. Either one is your proof.

In Cartagena

At the Comisaría de Cartagena the paid 790-012 is checked with the rest of your file, so keep it in the folder with the form and the passport. If your booking sends you to Murcia instead, the same slip serves: the fee belongs to the procedure, not to the office.

Questions

Why is there no amount on this page?

Because the State revises it, and an old figure does more harm than none. Tick your box on the official form and the current amount appears.

Can I pay at Menéndez y Pelayo on the day?

No. Payment comes first, at a bank or online; the comisaría only receives the proof.

My appointment moved and my slip was never used. Can I keep it?

A slip belongs to one person and one procedure. Ask the office whether it still accepts yours before paying a second time.
