Our Service: Private Help Around Cartagena

NIE Cartagena helps people who settle in Cartagena, on La Manga and around the Mar Menor. It is a private service, owing nothing to any administration: with you, we prepare the number, the European certificate, the residence card and the padrón entry, and we explain each step in plain English.

People come to this corner of the Región de Murcia for many reasons: a contract in the port or the industrial valley, a place at the UPCT, a pension and a view of the water, an apartment on the strip between two seas. Their procedures are national, but where each one is handled is local, and here that means a comisaría in the city for most police steps and an office in Murcia for permits.

Preparation is our work: identifying the procedure and the office, filling in the forms with you, preparing the 790-012, looking for a free slot and checking your folder before the day. Questions of tax, inheritance or immigration law go to lawyers and tax advisers; if yours is such a question, we say so straight away.

Neither the police, nor the State’s delegation, nor any town hall has a say in what we do, and we have none in what they decide. Anything described here can also be done by you directly with the offices concerned, paying nothing beyond the official fees.

Why ask us

What you can count on

  • The right office, read from the sources

Menéndez y Pelayo lists most police steps; students, stay extensions and permits are handled in Murcia. We match your case to the office before you book, from what the official pages list.

  • One passport, one route

A German in Cabo de Palos, a British couple in Los Alcázares and a Moroccan welder in the port face different forms. We answer for your case and leave the rest aside.

  • Every Spanish word, explained

Padrón, resguardo, trámite: we translate each word the first time you meet it, and teach you the ones you will hear at the desk.

  • Private, and saying so

Nobody in the administration employs us. Officials decide, at the comisaría, in Murcia or at the town hall; we only prepare. Every step on this site can be done by you alone, for the official fee.

The International Code of Signals

Every flag of the code, and the guide that flies it

In a harbour, ships speak to one another with coloured flags, each standing for a letter; this site gives every procedure a flag of its own, so that you can pick out at a glance the signal meant for you.

Signal flags hoisted on the mast of a ship entering the port of Yokohama, Japan: the dark-blue-and-white second substitute pennant above the diagonal red-and-yellow 'O' flag and the white 'S' flag with its dark-blue centre square, the Japanese courtesy flag flying beside them, against a pale blue sky and the white superstructure and railings of the ship

Beyond our signals

When the voyage needs more than paperwork

Our part is preparing procedures and booking appointments for newcomers to Cartagena and the coast. Two other firms, both private and independent, cover the wider ground: one organises an entire move to Spain, the other obtains a NIE for people who cannot travel. Neither firm, any more than ours, answers to any public office.

Ready to set a course?

Tell us your passport, where on the coast you are or will be living, and the dates that are already fixed: a signing, a contract, the start of term, a flight. We reply with the procedure, the form and the office.
